Pedestrians have rough road in Greenwood

When Stephanie Scott runs on Greenwood's Tracy Trail, she often wishes she could get to Craig Park, but she hasn't found a safe way to cross U.S. 31. "I love that we have a lot more trails and sidewalks around here than we did when I first moved here, but I really do wish there was a way for me to get from one side of 31 to the other because it's too hectic for me to just cross," Scott said. Greenwood has more than five trails that go through the city, including along Worthsville, Smith Valley and County Line roads.

William J. "Will" Bentley Sr., 88, of Seymour passed away Saturday, June 24, 2017, at Veterans Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky, with his family by his side. Born Aug. 9, 1928, in Pine Top, Kentucky, he was the son of Henry S. and Ellen Franklin Bentley, both of whom preceded him in death.

The crash happened just after 11 p.m. Saturday when a vehicle went off Interstate 65 near Southport Road, according to a news release from Indiana State Police. Police said McCracken's vehicle was headed north on I-65 and went off the road and into a ditch, causing the vehicle to roll over several times.
